PRESS RELEASE

Lake Erie Starts Here!  Don't "Waste" It!  Septic and Pet Waste Workshop

Summit County Public Health and the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District are co-hosting a workshop focusing on healthy septic systems and pet waste practices. The presentations will promote watershed awareness and protection strategies throughout the Lake Erie Basin, aimed at increasing knowledge of the impacts of non-point source pollution.  The program will target pet waste practices and septic tank maintenance and the consequences of these daily practices on the health of the watershed and Lake Erie.  Participants will learn how to adopt activities that will decrease pollutants entering our waters and actually improve water quality.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Summit County Public Health auditorium, located at 1867 West Market Street in Akron, Ohio, 44313.  The workshop starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon.

The workshop is free and open to the public.  To register for the workshop go to https://tinyurl.com/LakeErieStartsHere.  For more information, please contact Sandy Barbic at the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District at (330)-926-2452, or This email address is being protected from spambots.
