Board Meeting Highlights

COPLEY, OH (January 27, 2021) – At the January 26, 2021 Board of Trustees Meeting, the Board discussed necessary improvements to the street and parking area lighting in the Montrose area. They also discussed the potential for a sidewalk replacement project along Cleveland-Massillon Road in front of the Middle School heading north to Copley Circle as part of the Summit County Engineer’s repaving project.

In addition, the Board discussed possible sewer/water extensions in the Township relative to a meeting with Summit County Department of Sewer Services to discuss a possible partnership.

Legislation

  • Granted permission to accept $18,914.95 in insurance proceeds for a police cruiser involved in an auto accident while on routine patrol.
  • Granted permission to accept a new drug Drop-off box at the Police Station from Rite-Aid Pharmacy KIDS Cents Foundation.
  • Granted permission to participate in the 2021 Summit County Road Program.
  • Granted permission for the Service Director to request the Summit County Engineer to prepare plans, specifications and estimates for the 2021 Copley Township 448 Asphalt Road Repaving Program and the Pavement Marking Program.
  • Accepted the 2020 ODOT Highway System Mileage Certification indicating that Copley Township maintains 64.615 miles of public roads throughout the Township.
  • Granted permission to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement with the Summit County Service Department Response Network to provide and accept aid when participating communities experience an emergency that impairs the efficiency of their Service Department.
  • Approved the renewal of the Township’s health insurance policy, dental insurance policy, and life and short-term disability insurance policies and vision insurance policy.
  • Granted permission to extend the effective dates of the Copley Township Families First Coronavirus Response Act policy through June 30, 2021.
