Load Limit on Knox Boulevard Bridge over Pigeon Creek

Copley Township, Ohio – Alan Brubaker, P.E., P.S., Summit County Engineer, would like to alert residents and motorists of a 5-ton load limit on the Knox Boulevard Bridge over Pigeon Creek. County-owned bridges are inspected annually and independently reviewed by an engineering firm. A recent review of the Knox Blvd Bridge over Pigeon Creek by Arcadis, Inc. determined that a load limit is needed due to deterioration. The bridge is scheduled to be replaced in 2026.

Bridge weight limits are located in the Summit County Codified Ordinances, Section 339.12. Local law enforcement is authorized to cite overweight vehicles under the code section. In addition to receiving a ticket, drivers taking an overweight vehicle over a load posted bridge may be held civilly liable for any damage to the bridge caused by the crossing.
