[ARCHIVED] Copley Township Traffic Calming Policy 2021

Copley Township receives complaints of speeding on several roads within the Township and most of these roads are cut-through or roads that lead out of allotments to arterial or collector roads that lead to main highways or interstates. To help reduce the excessive speeds, radar signs were purchased and mounted in locations where the most complaints are generated. The radar signs display the current speed of approaching traffic so the driver is made aware of how fast they are traveling. The radar signs do more than display vehicle speeds. Traffic counts, daily average speeds, vehicle and violator counts, and percentages of vehicles speeding are also recorded. This data is collected and reviewed to determine if a complaint is justified. At the July 27, 2021 Copley Township Board of Trustees Meeting, the Trustees approved the Traffic Calming Policy that is to be used to determine if additional traffic calming methods are warranted. Please use the policy procedure below as a guide to submit requests for review.
