Biography
Assistant Chief Steve Blasdel started his career with Akron Fire Department in April 2000. He came to Copley Fire Department in a part-time capacity in October 2002. Steve chose to dedicate himself to a full-time position with Copley Fire in September of 2015 and was promoted to lieutenant in 2017. Steve served as the A shift supervisor until his promotion to Assistant Chief in August of 2021. AC Blasdel has served on the Summit County Hazardous Materials Team, Technical Rescue Team, and the Regional Fire Investigation Team.
Education
Assistant Chief Blasdel recently completed his Associate Degree in Fire Science through Eastern Gateway University. He is a certified Fire Officer I, II, III, and IV, Fire Investigator, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, Firefighter II, and Paramedic.
Family
Assistant Chief Blasdel grew up in Akron and currently lives in Copley Township with his wife and four children.
